Physical Education Online Course Outline
1. Physical Activity (50% weight)
Students will be expected to be active in this course. Activities will fall into 4 categories, each of which will require a minimum of
15 hours of participation for a total minimum 90 hours.
Included in this section is a Fitness Assessment. This evaluation will help students recognize their strengths and set goals with your
instructor to work on areas for improvement. You will also be required to come back near the end of the term for a Post Fitness Assessment that will help to determine how successful the activities you have been doing were in improving
your physical fitness. This is mandatory for all students.
2. Quizzes (20% weight)
Quizzes will account for 20% of your final mark. All of the information needed is provided in the Sport Knowledge and Understanding section. There will be specific dates for when these quizzes are required to be completed.
3. Assignments (30% weight)
The assignments are based on course content. The weekly activity log submission will also be included in this category to update your teacher on your progress in this course.
Online Physical Education
- DOES require being active on a regular basis. You are required to submit your activity log every Friday
- You are required to be physically active for an average of at least 5 hours a week and log those hours to be submitted on the activity log
- There is flexibility around what time and where you do your course, but there are timelines that do need to be met and definite due dates.
